Intermediate Violin Pedagogy at CSU

CSU offers private lessons taught by college students in our String Pedagogy classes.
In 2012-2013 Intermediate violin and viola students will receive 10 45-minute lessons at CSU this fall and 15 lessons in the spring the supervision of Leslie Stewart. Fall semester lessons will start Monday, Sept. 24 and conclude with an informal recital which their family could attend on Monday, Dec. 3 at 7:30PM.
The total cost for this semester is $150 ($15 per lesson, which represents less than half the price that most professional teachers in this area are charging). In addition, students would be expected to purchase their own scale, etude and repertoire books -- the total for these materials should cost less than $50. This year's curriculum includes how to teach advanced positions, advanced bowing techniques (like martele and spiccato) and vibrato. Student teachers can also help pupils with their school orchestra music.
